Supporting Pediatric Preparedness
Emergency Preparedness Solutions, LLC is proud to serve as the Drills & Exercises Domain Manager for the Pediatric Pandemic Network (PPN), and the Arizona Coordinator for the Western Regional Alliance for Pediatric Emergency Management (WRAP-EM).
PPN and WRAP-EM were created to bring together children's hospitals, private and public entities, and national organizations. Both organizations work to empower all healthcare systems and their communities to be prepared to provide high-quality, equitable pediatric care in everyday emergencies, disasters, and global health threats.
Our Team
David McCarthy
Founder
David McCarthy has over 30 years of experience in healthcare and emergency management, working with hospitals, healthcare coalitions, volunteer organizations, schools, and churches. He served as the Emergency Preparedness Coordinator for a multi-hospital system for seven years before founding Emergency Preparedness Solutions. David's training includes volunteering for the American Red Cross, responding to HAZMAT incidents, participating in the National Disaster Medical System, and serving in EMS, law enforcement, and counterterrorism for 18 years with the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office.
Chris McCarthy
Director of Operations
Chris McCarthy is an experienced consultant with a strong background in risk management and process improvement. With over 20 years of experience advising senior leaders, he brings extensive knowledge to emergency management. Chris excels in designing and facilitating healthcare emergency drills and exercises, focusing on pediatric considerations. His expertise and dedication make him a valuable contributor to emergency management.
Katie Hudnall
Research Assistant
Katie has been working in Emergency Management for over 10 years, providing research and administrative assistance for hospitals, healthcare facilities, and healthcare coalitions. Katie specializes in analyzing data presented from healthcare emergency drills and exercises, and creating reports designed to improve upon future drills and exercises. Katie also provides technical support for virtual tabletop exercises in regards to registration, participant feedback, and data collection. Her broad range of skills and experience make her a valuable asset to handle the background work of facilitating Emergency Management drills and exercises.
